VmCategoryModule is a Joomla 1.0/Joomla 1.5 native module which creates an output of categories with links to subcategories in a module. The layout of the output is fully customizable because of the use of a template. The module can be copied many times and each copy can use its own template to show different categories on different pages with a different layout. All category information is retrieved from your VirtueMart installation.

The module is very versatile and has the following options for personalizing the module:

• Individual templates per module
• With or without Javascript to use fold and expand
• Select categories to display
• Show subcategories
• Show products
• Module suffix for individual styling

Fold and expand

The fold and expand makes it possible to use VmCategoryModule as customized menu that can be shown on selected pages. The active choice is highlighted. The result can look like this:
